Alter Ego de Palmer, Margaux (6L)
$ 459.992009 Wine - Red Cabernet Sauvignon and Blends France Margaux Bordeaux
Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Masseto 2005
$ 499.99Smells like chocolate mousse, with crushed raspberry and hints of flowers. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a rich, fruity finish. This is powerful and structured Merlot, with layers and layers of everything. Needs time to come around. Best after 2014. 2,660 cases made. The 2005 Masseto (Merlot) is simply gorgeous. A wine of extraordinary class and personality, it remains very primary in its dark fruit, licorice, cassis and toasted oak. It offers notable concentration and well-integrated tannins, all of which convey an impression of awesome harmony, finesse and balance. The tricky growing season seems to have been less of an issue for the Merlot, particularly in the old-vine Masseto Centrale vineyard. The 2005 Masseto has been superb every time I have tasted it thus far. As is often the case, the wine requires at least a few years of bottle age before it becomes approachable. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025. 750ml
2000 La Mondotte (Saint-Emilion)
$ 499.992000 Chateau La Mondotte (St.-Emilion): "From a 11.3 acre vineyard cropped at 25 hectoliters per hectare, this blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc is a candidate for perfection. The 2000 La Mondotte has a saturated, inky purple color to the rim and a tight but enormously promising nose of blackberry and cassis liqueur intermixed with cherry, vanilla, espresso, mocha, and a hint of acacia flower. This unfined and unfiltered wine is enormously rich, with great intensity, fabulous purity, a layered texture, and a vicious, full-bodied finish that goes on for nearly one minute. In spite of its size, the wine has remarkable finesse and delineation. This is another tour de force in winemaking from proprietor Stephan de Neipperg and winemaking consultant Stephane Derenoncourt. Anticipated Maturity: 2009-2035." 98+ Points. Robert M. Parker, Jr.'s, The Wine Advocate, Issue 146. 2000 Chateau La Mondotte (St.-Emilion): "la Mondotte is a great wine. Subdued, but impressive concentration of berry, cherry and mineral character. Full-bodied, very silky, with a lovely texture and a long and inviting finish. Smokey, coffee character. A silky and sexy wine that develops into a big and powerful red. Best after 2010." 95 Points. Wine Spectator Weekly, 1/16/03.
Owned and operated by four generations of the Gaja family, the winery began with Giovanni Gaja in 1859. Since the 1960s, Angelo Gaja has been running the operation and is credited with modernizing the wine. The first property of forty acres of vineyards is dedicated to two Brunello di Montalcino wines called Sugarille and Rennina. Gaja acquired a second property in 1996, with 200 acres, 150 of which are devoted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. Currently, Piedmont is home to 250 acres of vineyards owned by the Gaja Winery. The wines are profound and display a style that is unrivaled elsewhere in Italy.

Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
$ 649.001997 Wine - Red Cabernet Sauvignon and Blends United States Napa Valley California
Under the direction of Jean-Pierre's son, Christian, and their oenologist, Jean Claude Berrouet, Petrus receives the care of a pampered child. The grapes are picked only in the afternoon, when the morning dew has evaporated, so as not to risk even the slightest dilution of quality. Vinification and aging: The composition of the topsoil and the subsoil at Petrus is almost all clay (whereas in adjacent properties the soil is a mixture of gravel-sand or clay-sand). Merlot flourishes in this soil and for this reason, Petrus' vineyard is planted with 95% Merlot. The vines are unusually old and are only replanted after they reach 70 years of age. Replanting takes place plot by plot, instead of vine by vine, in order to guarantee that the average age of vines is maintained at a high level. Fermented in cement vats, the wine is aged in 100% new oak barrels for 22-28 months. Clarified with 5 fresh egg whites per barrel. Never filtered for fear of removing some of its remarkable richness.
2001 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon
$ 2195.00As one of Napa Valleyâs smallest wineries, Screaming Eagle is a California cult wine favorite. The small stone winery is situated on a rocky hillside in the Oakville Appellation. The vineyard is planted in Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Jean Phillips purchased the 60-acre property in 1986 and founded the winery in 1992. Since then, she has teamed up with wine maker Heidi Peterson Barrett to create and propel a highly sought-after Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery was sold to Charles Banks and Stanley Kroenke in March of 2006. They have hired new, reputable winemakers and vineyard managers.
