  1. 2008 Chateau Le Thil 'Comte Clary' (Rouge) (Pessac-Leognan) 375ML »FUTURES«

    $ 8.49

    A brilliant overachiever as well as a sleeper of the vintage, this dense ruby/purple-tinged 2008 emerges from a vineyard site not far from Smith-Haut-Lafitte. A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon that was cropped at very low yields as a result of challenging flowering and growing conditions, it boasts a deep ruby/purple color along with a sweet nose of tobacco leaf, red currants, and blacker fruits. Opulent, round, and pure with good underlying acidity as well as ripe tannin, it should be drunk over the next 7-8 years. 90-92 Points, Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate, Issue#182. The term wine future refers to buying wine shortly after it is made at the winery, but before it is bottled and shipped. Buying wine futures allows you to lock in a significantly discounted price relative to what the wine will sell for on general release. When the wine arrives at B-21, customers who purchased futures will be notified that the wine is ready for shipment. 2008 Bordeaux will begin arriving in 2011.

  3. 2006 Chateau Beaulieu 'Comtes de Tastes' (Bordeaux Superieur)

    $ 14.99

    "From a 15 hectare plot situated northwest of Libourne, Chateau Beaulieu produces this wine from 60% merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is aged for 9 months in 50% new and 50% used for 1 vintage previously, all French. A remarkable value. Concentrated showing structure, sweet dark fruits, and black cherry towards the end of the flavor spectrum accompanied by some chocolate and mineral notes too. It is substantial, drinks well currently and will stay vital for 5 years easily. 89 Points, Rhett Beiletti, B-21 Another of the over-achieving estates from a humble appellation, Beaulieu Comtes de TastesÂ’ 2006 is a blend of 70% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its dark ruby color is followed by soft, round, black currant and black cherry notes as well as hints of spice box and cedar. With sweet tannin and medium body, it is an excellent introduction to a well-made, bargain-priced Bordeaux. Good value. 88 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate This 25-acre vineyard, planted in clay and limestone soils, is situated in Salignac, 15 miles northeast of Bordeaux. It belongs to the Comted de Tastes. Well-drained southfacing slopes explain the name: Beaulieu i.e. "beautiful Place" Under the enlightened management of Count Guillaume de Tasttes, ably assisted by Stephane Derenoncourt, cover cropping, green harvesting and leafpulling are the rule. Consequently, yields are very low for the appellation at less than two tons per acre, barely a bottle of wine per vine! The 20-year old vines inlcude 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet. At 2,226 vines/acre, density is twice the average of most new world vineyards! The hand-harvested fruit undergoes a pre-fermentation, cold maceration after which the juiice is slowly fermented an then macerated for as long as taste (Tastes?) deems necessary. Malolactic takes place in barrel, all of whic are new. The wine is then aged on its lees for 12 months, gainingadditional richness, freshness and complexity. Enjoy it now and over the next 5-7 years.

Drink now. 30,000 cases made." 88 Points - Wine Spectator, October 31, 2007 "The 2005 Alpha Merlot offers an attractive nose of cedar, spice box, cassis, and black cherry. 6. 2006 Montes Alpha Merlot Colchagua Valley

    $ 17.99

    "Ruby-red. Exotically perfumed bouquet of cherry-cola, black raspberry and sexy oak spices. Supple and gently sweet on the palate, with no rough edges to the vivid cherry and dark berry flavors. Suave and alluring merlot with good finishing breadth and lingering spiciness. This is already delicious." 90 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 09 "The 2006 Alpha Merlot Apalta Vineyard saw eighty percent of the wine spend 12 months in French oak, the balance in stainless steel. Dark ruby/purple in color, it has a stylish nose of cedar, spice box, red currants, and black currants. Supple-textured with ample ripe fruit, it has a bit of sweet tannin and attractive flavors leading to a medium length finish. Drink it over the next 4-6 years." 89 points - Jay miller for Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 179

  7. 2006 Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon Apalta Vineyard

    $ 17.99

    "Aromas of cocoa, cassis and marshmallow are sweet and attractive, while the palate feels just right and tastes of cassis, plum, caramel and pepper. While it is powerful, itÂ’s not a runaway tank. Thus expect a sly finish thatÂ’s toasty, dark and polite. Drink now and over the next couple of years. Very good Cab from one of ChileÂ’s top producers." 91 points - Wine Enthusiast, December 31, 2008 "The 2006 Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon has 10% Merlot in its blend. It received the identical barrel/tank regimen. Purple-colored, it exhibits aromas of cedar, spice box, tobacco, black currant, and blackberry. Layered yet elegant, it has enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years. Balanced and lengthy, it should drink well from 2009." 90 points - Jay Miller for Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 179 "(includes 10% merlot) Ruby-red. Lively aromas of red- and blackcurrant are complicated by fresh rose and smoky Indian spices. Fresh red berry flavors stain the palate without any undue weight, picking up subtle tobacco and floral character on the back end. Impressively graceful cabernet with very good finishing clarity and sweetness." 90 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 09

  9. 2004 Brancaia Chianti Classico

    $ 19.99

    "Grown at estate vineyards near Castellina and Radda, this is a sleek expression of sangiovese (blended with 5 percent merlot). It feels foresty and cool, with plump black raspberry flavors and exotic spice held firm by dense tannin. The structure is what's most apparent now, although with air those tannins begin to feel luxurious and strong, the fruit finely focused and lifted. A modern and well built normale-level Chianti Classico, this should be cellared for a few years, then served with braised pork shoulder." 92 points - Wine & Spirits, April 2008 "Consulting oenologist Carlo Ferrini oversees winemaking at Brancaia, which owns vineyards in the Chianti Classico and Morellino di Scansano zones. The Chianti Classico 2004 (95% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot) saw 16 monthsÂ’ aging in French oak. It presents a darker side of Chianti Classico, with black cherry and licorice notes that flow from its rich, weighty frame. Made in a plump, juicy style, it is sure to provide much pleasure now and over the next several years. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2014." 89 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 171 "Medium-deep ruby. Slightly overripe dark plum and Bing cherry aromas are given welcome lift by a hint of volatile acidity. Lovely, fresher red fruits on the palate, with suave tannins and a lingering minerally, balsamic finish. I'm not sure this exhibits much territorial character or that I'd even pick it as a mostly sangiovese wine, but it's delightfully well made and will have plenty of admirers." 89 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Aug 07

  10. 2007 Celler de l'Encastell "Marge" (Priorat)

    $ 23.99

    "The 2007 Marge is the entry level wine from Raimon Castellvi, owner and winemaker of Roquers de Porrera. Marge is the local name for the stone walls made of slate taken from the Priorat vineyards. It is a blend of 60% Garnacha, 14% Syrah, 13% Merlot, and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for eight months in French and American oak. The wine is a glass-coating opaque purple with legs that ooze down the glass. The brooding nose reveals crushed stone, spice box, violets, tar, black cherry, and blueberry. This is followed by a dense, rich, structured Priorat with 1-2 years of aging potential. Drink it through 2017." 90 points, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 183, June 2009.

    $ 29.99

    The 2006 Merlot Seven Hills Vineyard includes 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc in the blend. It is more deeply colored, more expressive with aromas of spice box, cedar, leather, and an amalgam of red fruits. Smooth-textured, with excellent depth and concentration, this well-balanced effort will evolve for 2-3 years and be at its best from 2010 to 2017. 90 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Oct 2009)

    Sold by: B-21 from USA

  13. 2008 Chateau Fleur Cardinale (Saint-Emilion) »FUTURES«

    $ 29.99

    The 2008 possesses a deep ruby/purple color as well as complex aromatics of graphite, cedar, blackberries, black currants, and subtle background oak. Dense, with abundant fruit, soft, ripe tannin, and a long, heady finish, I am not sure it is as powerful, rich, or as potentially long-lived as the 2005, but it will be drinkable at a much earlier age, and should evolve for 15 or more years. This 45-acre vineyard owned by the Decoster family has produced fabulous wines over recent years. In 2008, yields were the lowest to date, 35 hectoliters per hectare, and the final blend is 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Only 5,000 cases have been produced because of the tiny yields and strict selection. The winemaking is overseen by Jean-Philippe Fort (Michel RollandÂ’s right-hand man) as well as Jean-Luc Thunevin. 91-93 Points, Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate, Issue#182. The term wine future refers to buying wine shortly after it is made at the winery, but before it is bottled and shipped. Buying wine futures allows you to lock in a significantly discounted price relative to what the wine will sell for on general release. 14. 2005 L'Ecole No. 41 Apogee Pepper Bridge Vineyard Walla Walla Valley

    $ 39.99

    "The 2005 Apogee Pepper Bridge Vineyard is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 7% Malbec, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Saturated purple-colored, it has a slightly brooding nose of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, and assorted black fruits. It is the most structured of the LÂ’Ecole reds with darker fruit and greater aging potential. Drink this superb effort between 2015 and 2030." 93 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 177 "Darker, more inward than the Perigee, the scents here tend more toward black cherries and tobacco. The flavors are darker too, more concentrated and lasting, the texture supporting savory, dark plum notes. Built to last, and for an aged rib-eye, off the grill." 93 points - Wine & Spirits, June 2008 "LÂ’EcoleÂ’s Pepper Bridge vineyard-based, proprietary Bordeaux red is divided equally between Merlot (45%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (45%), with Cab Franc and Malbec making up the rest. Right now this is a wine that is still rough and coming together; a jumble of jagged tannins, streaks of herb and mushroom, stitched around tart and spicy fruits and a splash of toast and coffee." 90 points - Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2008 "Firm in texture, with an airy feel to the cherry and blackberry flavors as they ride over hints of mint and cedar. Needs time to soften the tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2010 through 2015. 1,747 cases made." 89 points - Wine Spectator, May 31, 2008

  15. 2005 L'Ecole No. 41 Perigee Seven Hills Vineyard Walla Walla Valley

    $ 39.99

    "Compared with Apogee, its sister wine from Pepper Bridge Vineyard, the Perigee from Seven Hills is always fresher, more forward, more expressive wine upon release; 2005 is no exception. The wine leads with a spiced plum scent, lined by leather and smoke. The flavors are lush and generous, a deep red compote of black cherry and tea-smoked plum, the finish long and fine. It's has the succulence for roast squab." 93 points - Wine & Spirits, June 2008 "The 2005 Perigee Seven Hills Vineyard is 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc aged in 50% new oak. Dark ruby/purple-colored, it has an alluring perfume of violets, wood smoke, spice box, black currant and blackberry liqueur. Elegant and seamless on the palate, it has superb depth, concentration, and spicy, savory flavors. Give it 4-6 years and drink it from 2012 to 2025." 92 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 177 "From the oldest vines in the Seven Hills vineyard, this is lush and thick in the mouth. A power-packed, evocative Bordeaux blend, it features tightly knit and layered black fruits, augmented with subtle barrel flavors, earth and herb. The balance is beautifully managed; firm acids balance out the still-chewy tannins, and hints of pepper and herb add just the right spicy highlights. A Cellar Selection." 91 points - Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2008 "Lithe and appealing for its plush texture and pretty red cherry and pomegranate flavors, weaving in toast and sweet spices as the finish sails on. The tannins are present, but not excessive. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2009 through 2015. 1,594 cases made." 90 points - Wine Spectator, May 15, 2008

It is the most concentrated, complex, and intense of the LÂ’Ecole reds with darker, layered fruit and greater aging potential. Drink this superb effort between 2015 and 2031. 94 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Oct 2009) Dark and distinctive, hanging its ripe plum, currant and cherry fruit on a rangy, wide-open frame that lets the flavors mingle with hints of olive and pepper as the finish rolls on easily. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2014. 1,748 cases made. 91 Points, The Wine Spectator (Oct 2009)
