  3. Festival '34 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon

    $ 5.98

    Holy moly have we found another incredible deal in high quality Cabernet Sauvignon from California's Central Coast. Originally priced @ $15, the juicy, luscious red is being Blown Out at $5.98 while supplies last. Like the Twotone Cabernet deal from a cuple of months back, if you do not move quickly, you will miss out! We can't stress enough how great a deal this really is. Summer is on the horizon and a need for a great drinking house red at a price like this is something we all hope for but seldom find. This is the real deal; high quality juice and an unbelievably low price. Come and get it! About the label: Festival '34 was a major event in the California wine scene following the repeal of prohibition in 1933. This label pays homage this historic event. Tasting note: When crafting this wine, the winemaking team selected luscious fruit from the AVA's of Monterey and Paso Robles, two highly regarded wine growing regions. The majority of the wine was aged for over a year in French and American small oak barrels to add layers of complexity and to mellow the tannins. The winemaker blended in small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah to create a wine boasting with rich aromas and flavors. This wine is rich and satisfying, with raspberry and plum aromas and flavors with hints of cedar, mint and cassis. A structured mid-palate carries the fruit into the long finish.

  5. Alto Almanzora 2007 Este

    $ 7.98

    This is "bang for your buck" Spanish red and it is one of the finest values we have ever tasted from anywhere. It packs a punch with its rich concentration of fruit and it is thoroughly delicious to drink now. One to purchase by the case; don't miss it! Parker wrote: There are 10,000 cases of Alto Almanzora’s 2007 Este, a blend of 45% Monastrell, 25% Tempranillo, and the balance Syrah, Garnacha, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is sourced from the little-known DO of Almeria located in eastern Andalucia in the south-east of Spain. The wine was aged for six months in French and American oak. Deep purple in color (remarkably dense for its humble price), it offers up a kinky, full-blown nose of smoke, spice box, and wild blueberry. Ripe, succulent, and layered, this bargain-priced, hedonistic effort totally over-delivers. Buy it by the palette load and drink it over the next three years.

  6. 2007 Red Diamond Merlot (Washington)

    $ 7.99

    "79% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Syrah. Aromas of sweet cherry and vanilla introduce this Merlot. The silky palate displays flavors of red berries, juicy plums and a touch of caramel and mocha, the finish is soft and begs you to drink more." - Winemaker's Notes

  7. 2004 Gallo Family Merlot Reserve (Sonoma)

    $ 7.99

    "Another superb bargain is the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma. Notions of cassis, bay leaf, licorice, and wood emerge from this dark ruby/purple-colored effort. On the palate, pure cassis and dusty, loamy soil characteristics are accompanied by admirable fruit, medium to full body, and a silky texture. All four of these wines are sensational bargains." 88 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 180 "Great job with a Cab this dry and balanced, at such a fair price. Shows classic balance and elegance, with black currant, anise and smoky oak flavors. Now through 2009." 88 points - Wine Enthusiast, November 15, 2008 "Firm, spicy and full-bodied, offering minty herb, dried currant and berry flavors, with mineral, sage and cedary oak. Ends with drying tannins. Drink now through 2013. 11,492 cases made." 87 points - Wine Spectator, August 3, 2009

  8. 2007 Vina Calina Merlot Reserva Maule Valley

    $ 7.99

    "(includes 5% cabernet sauvignon) Ruby-red. Ripe cherry and dark berries on the nose, with tobacco and oak spices adding interest. Sweet cassis and cherry flavors are firmed by dusty tannins and given a bitter edge by dark chocolate. Shuts down on the finish but delivers good sweetness, especially for the price." 87 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr '09
