  2. Justin 2007 Isosceles

    $ 49.98

    The 2007 vintage in Paso Robles is arguably the greatest across-the-board vintage ever for this hot climate AVA located on California’s Central Coast. Justin’s 2007 Isosceles is full-bodied and gorgeously concentrated Cabernet-based red that has the power to last two decades, but it is hard to resist now given the upfront fruit and velvety ripe tannins. We think it is the finest made since the epic 1997 and just may be the best ever! Quantities are limited and the wine is available now on a first come first served basis. AG Staff 95 Points Tasting note: The 2007 Isosceles offers an opaque, dense purple-black core with barely perceptible color change to the rim, indicating extraordinarily high extract and viscosity. The nose is variable over a several minute review: black and blue fruit, firm but inviting oak notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, and a sense of just-roasted dark-roast coffee beans. Later, a note of dark cocoa; a dash of black pepper; a drop of vanilla. The palate reveals an immensely flavored wine, repeating the black fruit intensity and powerful tannins typical of this brilliant vintage. The finish is stately, regal, long. This gorgeous Isosceles is the most cellar-worthy since the legendary 1997.

  3. 2004 Capcanes Cabrida (Tarragona)

    $ 49.99

    2004 Capcanes Cabrida (Tarragona): The 2004 Cabrida is the winery’s flagship and is composed of 100% Garnacha from low-yielding 70- to 105-year-old vines. It was aged for 12 months in new French oak. Deep purple, the wine has a splendid perfume of pencil lead, scorched earth, smoky black cherries, and black raspberries. This is followed by a high-toned, racy wine with considerable elegance. Its flavors are intense and it is well balanced with a lengthy finish. Drink this tasty effort over the next 10-12 years. 93 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate Issue #169 (Feb. 2007)

  7. 2005 Keenan Cabernet Franc Napa Valley

    $ 49.99

    "Keenan has done a fabulous job with the 2005 Cabernet Franc, a varietal that excels on Spring Mountain. A beautiful nose of menthol, black raspberries, blueberries, and flowers is followed by a fabulously intense, yet light on its feet, wine. Medium-bodied with excellent fruit and palate penetration, it never seems to tire or become overbearing. 8. 2004 Cadence Bel Canto Red Mountain

    $ 49.99

    Lithe, supple and seductive, this velvety red shows layers of currant, blackberry, roasted red pepper and herb flavors wrapped tightly in shapely, refined tannins. A touch of sweet oak adds to the mix. Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2008 through 2014. 250 cases made. 93 Points - Wine Spectator, May 15, 2007 (50% cabernet franc, 40% merlot and 10% petit verdot, from a blend of vineyards) Good bright red with ruby highlights. Expressive aromas of blackberry, raspberry, rose petal, licorice, mocha and spices. Sweet, broad and concentrated, with lush, primary dark berry flavors lifted by floral notes of lilac and lavender; this offers lovely mid-palate texture and the definition and verve that come from healthy, well-integrated acidity. The seamless finish features substantial broad, dusty tannins, lovely floral lift and a lingering chocolately sweetness. Very impressive. 93 points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Nov/Dec 06

  9. 2006 Conn Valley Right Bank Meritage Napa Valley

    $ 49.99

    "Their Napa Valley Cheval Blanc look-alike is called Right Bank, usually a blend of two-thirds Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, although it can change somewhat depending on the vintage. This is a thrilling wine that comes as close as just about any wine in Napa to mimicking a great Right Bank Bordeaux. I think the 2006 Right Bank is also going to be another home run for the folks at Conn Valley. The 2006 Right Bank, a blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot, has sweet notes of bouquet garni intermixed with roasted coffee, chocolate, black cherry, and black currant. The wine is deep, rich, round, but once the tannins kick in at the back of the palate, this wine clearly begs for bottle age. Give it 4-5 years of cellar age and drink it over the following 25+ years." 95 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Issue 180

  11. 2005 Chateau L'Hermitage (Saint-Emilion)

    $ 49.99

    "L’Hermitage, one of the original garagiste estates, is a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc from a small 9-acre site sandwiched between such titans of St.-Emilion as Beausejour-Duffau and Angelus. The 2005 is typically pure, medium to full-bodied, opulent, and showy, with more elegance (largely because of its fresh, lively acidity) and serious structure than usual. Its intense aromatics of blackberry, black cherry, and herbs is backed-up by a full-bodied wine possessing ripe tannin as well as outstanding weight, length, and overall harmony." Anticipated maturity: 2011-2022." 92 points - The Wine Advocate, Issue 176
