2008 Croix Mouton (Bordeaux Superieur) »FUTURES«
$ 10.99One of the estates owned by Jean-Philippe Janoueix, this consistently well-made Bordeaux Superieur was fashioned from low yields of 27 hectoliters per hectare. Its opaque ruby/purple hue is accompanied by sweet aromas of graphite, charcoal, blackberries, and blue fruits. A blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, it exhibits a beautiful texture, medium to full body, and a long finish. Another sleeper of the vintage, it should be consumed during its first 3-4 years of life. 89-90 Points, Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate, Issue#182 The term wine future refers to buying wine shortly after it is made at the winery, but before it is bottled and shipped. Buying wine futures allows you to lock in a significantly discounted price relative to what the wine will sell for on general release. When the wine arrives at B-21, customers who purchased futures will be notified that the wine is ready for shipment. 2008 Bordeaux will begin arriving in 2011.

2005 Stacked Stone Cellars The Zin Stone
$ 13.95The Zin Stone is a full bodied old vine Zinfandel. This banger reveals notes of kirsch liqueur, melted licorice, black raspberries, and hints of pepper. Rich, ripe and meaty with a huge fruit back bone. This hedonistic turn-on should be enjoyed over the next 3-5 years. What a taste treat with Italian food, family and friends to help you enjoy "The Zin Stone"! Stacked Stone Cellars is located in the Paso Robles Appellation. It was founded in 1998 by Donald Thiessen. The vineyard is named after the elaborate stacked stone landscaping adorning its grounds. It grows high quality fruit capable of producing world-class wines. Stacked Stone’s grapes benefit from the areas' nearly perfect soils and unusual micro-climates. Planted traditionally, head pruned and dry-land-farmed, the estates consistently produce highly concentrated and complex wines. Stacked Stone Cellars harvested and vinified its first commercial vintage in 2002 producing nearly 1000 cases. Although Stacked Stone Cellars primary focus is Zinfandel, other wines also produced include: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Bordeaux Blends, Syrah, Petite Syrah, and a fortified Port-style wine.

2006 Chateau Beaulieu 'Comtes de Tastes' (Bordeaux Superieur)
$ 14.99"From a 15 hectare plot situated northwest of Libourne, Chateau Beaulieu produces this wine from 60% merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is aged for 9 months in 50% new and 50% used for 1 vintage previously, all French. A remarkable value. Concentrated showing structure, sweet dark fruits, and black cherry towards the end of the flavor spectrum accompanied by some chocolate and mineral notes too. It is substantial, drinks well currently and will stay vital for 5 years easily. 89 Points, Rhett Beiletti, B-21 Another of the over-achieving estates from a humble appellation, Beaulieu Comtes de TastesÂ’ 2006 is a blend of 70% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its dark ruby color is followed by soft, round, black currant and black cherry notes as well as hints of spice box and cedar. With sweet tannin and medium body, it is an excellent introduction to a well-made, bargain-priced Bordeaux. Good value. 88 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate This 25-acre vineyard, planted in clay and limestone soils, is situated in Salignac, 15 miles northeast of Bordeaux. It belongs to the Comted de Tastes. Well-drained southfacing slopes explain the name: Beaulieu i.e. "beautiful Place" Under the enlightened management of Count Guillaume de Tasttes, ably assisted by Stephane Derenoncourt, cover cropping, green harvesting and leafpulling are the rule. Consequently, yields are very low for the appellation at less than two tons per acre, barely a bottle of wine per vine! The 20-year old vines inlcude 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet. At 2,226 vines/acre, density is twice the average of most new world vineyards! The hand-harvested fruit undergoes a pre-fermentation, cold maceration after which the juiice is slowly fermented an then macerated for as long as taste (Tastes?) deems necessary. Malolactic takes place in barrel, all of whic are new. The wine is then aged on its lees for 12 months, gainingadditional richness, freshness and complexity. Enjoy it now and over the next 5-7 years.
