2005 Stacked Stone Cellars The Zin Stone
$ 13.95The Zin Stone is a full bodied old vine Zinfandel. This banger reveals notes of kirsch liqueur, melted licorice, black raspberries, and hints of pepper. Rich, ripe and meaty with a huge fruit back bone. This hedonistic turn-on should be enjoyed over the next 3-5 years. What a taste treat with Italian food, family and friends to help you enjoy "The Zin Stone"! Stacked Stone Cellars is located in the Paso Robles Appellation. It was founded in 1998 by Donald Thiessen. The vineyard is named after the elaborate stacked stone landscaping adorning its grounds. It grows high quality fruit capable of producing world-class wines. Stacked Stoneâs grapes benefit from the areas' nearly perfect soils and unusual micro-climates. Planted traditionally, head pruned and dry-land-farmed, the estates consistently produce highly concentrated and complex wines. Stacked Stone Cellars harvested and vinified its first commercial vintage in 2002 producing nearly 1000 cases. Although Stacked Stone Cellars primary focus is Zinfandel, other wines also produced include: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Bordeaux Blends, Syrah, Petite Syrah, and a fortified Port-style wine.
2006 Chateau Beaulieu 'Comtes de Tastes' (Bordeaux Superieur)
$ 14.99"From a 15 hectare plot situated northwest of Libourne, Chateau Beaulieu produces this wine from 60% merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is aged for 9 months in 50% new and 50% used for 1 vintage previously, all French. A remarkable value. Concentrated showing structure, sweet dark fruits, and black cherry towards the end of the flavor spectrum accompanied by some chocolate and mineral notes too. It is substantial, drinks well currently and will stay vital for 5 years easily. 89 Points, Rhett Beiletti, B-21 Another of the over-achieving estates from a humble appellation, Beaulieu Comtes de Tastes 2006 is a blend of 70% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its dark ruby color is followed by soft, round, black currant and black cherry notes as well as hints of spice box and cedar. With sweet tannin and medium body, it is an excellent introduction to a well-made, bargain-priced Bordeaux. Good value. 88 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate This 25-acre vineyard, planted in clay and limestone soils, is situated in Salignac, 15 miles northeast of Bordeaux. It belongs to the Comted de Tastes. Well-drained southfacing slopes explain the name: Beaulieu i.e. "beautiful Place" Under the enlightened management of Count Guillaume de Tasttes, ably assisted by Stephane Derenoncourt, cover cropping, green harvesting and leafpulling are the rule. Consequently, yields are very low for the appellation at less than two tons per acre, barely a bottle of wine per vine! The 20-year old vines inlcude 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet. At 2,226 vines/acre, density is twice the average of most new world vineyards! The hand-harvested fruit undergoes a pre-fermentation, cold maceration after which the juiice is slowly fermented an then macerated for as long as taste (Tastes?) deems necessary. Malolactic takes place in barrel, all of whic are new. The wine is then aged on its lees for 12 months, gainingadditional richness, freshness and complexity. Enjoy it now and over the next 5-7 years.
2004 Brancaia Chianti Classico
$ 19.99"Grown at estate vineyards near Castellina and Radda, this is a sleek expression of sangiovese (blended with 5 percent merlot). It feels foresty and cool, with plump black raspberry flavors and exotic spice held firm by dense tannin. The structure is what's most apparent now, although with air those tannins begin to feel luxurious and strong, the fruit finely focused and lifted. A modern and well built normale-level Chianti Classico, this should be cellared for a few years, then served with braised pork shoulder." 92 points - Wine & Spirits, April 2008 "Consulting oenologist Carlo Ferrini oversees winemaking at Brancaia, which owns vineyards in the Chianti Classico and Morellino di Scansano zones. The Chianti Classico 2004 (95% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot) saw 16 months aging in French oak. It presents a darker side of Chianti Classico, with black cherry and licorice notes that flow from its rich, weighty frame. Made in a plump, juicy style, it is sure to provide much pleasure now and over the next several years. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2014." 89 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 171 "Medium-deep ruby. Slightly overripe dark plum and Bing cherry aromas are given welcome lift by a hint of volatile acidity. Lovely, fresher red fruits on the palate, with suave tannins and a lingering minerally, balsamic finish. I'm not sure this exhibits much territorial character or that I'd even pick it as a mostly sangiovese wine, but it's delightfully well made and will have plenty of admirers." 89 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Aug 07
2008 Chateau Vrai Canon Bouche (Fronsac) »FUTURES«
$ 19.99The finest offering from the Canon-Fronsac appellation, Vrai Canon Bouché's 2008 was made from remarkably low yields of 20 hectoliters per hectare (about one-half to one-third of normal). The wine achieved 14.5% natural alcohol, and boasts stunning concentration, full body, and a gorgeous bouquet of spring flowers, blueberry pie, black raspberries, and charcoal. Dense and full-bodied with stunning purity, good acidity, and a 30-second finish, it is a blend of 98% Merlot and 2% Malbec. A superb over-achiever as well as a sleeper of the vintage, it isn't surprising that Stéphane Derenoncourt is the consultant at this estate. 91-94 Points, Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate, Issue#182 The term wine future refers to buying wine shortly after it is made at the winery, but before it is bottled and shipped. Buying wine futures allows you to lock in a significantly discounted price relative to what the wine will sell for on general release. When the wine arrives at B-21, customers who purchased futures will be notified that the wine is ready for shipment. 2008 Bordeaux will begin arriving in 2011.
2008 Joanin Becot (Cotes de Castillon) »FUTURES«
$ 19.99The wine is opaque purple to the rim, with tremendously sweet black raspberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with charcoal, incense, and a hint of toasty oak. Full-bodied with layers of fruit, sweet tannin, remarkable density, and a long, smooth, velvety-textured finish, this sleeper of the vintage should drink beautifully for 8-10 years. The exuberant and charming Juliette Becot continues to push the envelope of quality at this estate. Cropped at a remarkably low 29 hectoliters per hectare, this blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc was harvested in mid-October, with the final Cabernet Franc grapes being picked on October 20th, which created an unusually long period between the flowering and the harvest. This was not unusual in St.-Emilion and other Bordeaux appellations in this fascinating vintage. 90-92 Points, Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate, Issue#182 The term wine future refers to buying wine shortly after it is made at the winery, but before it is bottled and shipped. Buying wine futures allows you to lock in a significantly discounted price relative to what the wine will sell for on general release. 2005 Bouscat 'Cuvee la Gargone' (Bordeaux Superieur)
$ 24.99"While I was not impressed with Bouscats regular 2005 offering, these two cuvees were both super. The 2005 Cuvee Gargone (a blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Malbec, and the rest Cabernet Franc and a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon) offers a deep ruby/purple hue accompanied by aromas of crushed rocks, tobacco leaves, black currants, cherries, and spice. The wine possesses serious concentration, beautiful density, a lovely texture, and a long, pure finish. Not surprisingly, Claude Gros is the consultant at this estate. Sadly, there are only 600 cases of this offering. It should drink well for 3-5 years." 89 points - The Wine Advocate, Issue 176
Château Cambon La Pelouse Haut Médoc 2005
$ 30.99A big-time sleeper of the vintage,. the 2005 Cambon La Pelouse possesses a dark ruby/purple hue as well as an exotic, flamboyant, fruity bouquet of black cherries, wood smoke, tobacco, and spice. Lush, round, and opulent, it is ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years. This huge property, sandwiched between Cantemerle and Giscours, has released a blend of 50% Merlot and the rest primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with dollops of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. There are 17,500 cases of the 2005, undoubtedly the finest wine ever made at this estate. 750ml
2006 Jada "Passing By" Cabernet Sauvignon
$ 37.95The nose is outstanding! 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot (476 Case Production). With plum, black cherry, sweet tobacco and prune make this a full complete mouth feel. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness and purity of fruit, round tannin and balanced acidity. The wines were basket Pressed and barrel aged for roughly six months prior to blending. Once blended the wines were returned to barrel and aged for an additional 12 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered in May 2008 in 100% French Oak. 60% New French/40% once used. The vineyard was established in 1999, when Jack and Robyn Messina purchased the land with their sights set on making olive oil. They quickly decided to diversify and plant grapes as well. The first vines were planted later in 1999. Jada Vineyard lies in the hills of the Santa Lucia Coastal Range west of Paso Robles. A low spot (1,700 ft) in the range directly west of the vineyard funnels cool coastal air from the Pacific Ocean (approx. 20 miles) through the corridor commonly referred to as the Templeton Gap. As the Messinaâs embarked upon their first wine with Scott Hawley in 2005, the idea for creating a winemaking facility and tasting room on site began to flow. The old barn on the property lent itself perfectly to a gravity flow operation. Jada Vineyard grows and crafts Bordeaux and Rhône blends from our estate vineyard on Paso Roblesâ Westside.
32 Winds Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
$ 39.992007 Wine - Red Pinot Noir United States Sonoma County California
2004 Pacific Ridge Grace Proprietary Red Blend
$ 44.95This rich blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is is a beauty of a wine with a long finish, beautiful balance and irresistible complexity. After aging in French oak barrels for 24 months this powerful wine was bottled and aged 18 additional months. It is rich in black currants, cherries and oak. It is no surprise that Wine Enthusiast gave it a 91 rating in Dec. 2007, American Winery rated it 98 in 2007 and World Press Daily Wine Tasting gave it a 92 rating in February of 2008. Only 125 cases of this big, rich blend were produced. Grapes came from a vineyard in Oakville that is located next to Opus One and Paradigm at the base of the Harlan Estate hill.
