Feudi Di San Gregorio 2004 Taurasi
$ 34.98In a world of dime-a-dozen Italian wines, when you taste something extraordinary, it stands out. The 2004 Taurasi from Feudi di San Gregorio is such a wine, one that demands to be noticed. Produced from Aglianico grapes, which Parker calls "the most intriguing Italian varietal", from Taurasi, Pietradefusi and S. Angelo all’Esca, it has a vivid ruby red shimmer, with fragrant aromas of wild cherries, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and anice. Beautifully balanced, the wine is lush and round, with sweet, smooth tannins that lend it a lingering aromatic finale. Along with a rating of 93 Points, Robert Parker boasted about this wine: The estate's deeply-colored 2004 Taurasi is a serious wine. It is sweet and dense, showing the essence of black cherries, plums, smoke, bacon fat and minerals. The vibrant fruit is beautifully framed by the wine’s powerful yet well-integrated tannins. The balance with the oak is also superb. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025. This is a wine that once we tasted it, we fell in love with it. Complex and vibrant, this is a wine that every Italian wine lover needs to experience.
2008 Chateau Clos Les Lunelles (Cotes de Castillon) »FUTURES«
$ 34.99Yields of 20 hectoliters per hectare, and a harvest that lasted from October 17 to 21 produced a final blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The result is an inky/purple wine displaying a backward, but stunning bouquet of red and black fruits, spring flowers, spicy oak, and hints of graphite and crushed rocks. Possessing enormous concentration, it is massive on the attack and mid-palate, but the vintage's crisp, cool acids give it uplift, vibrancy, and an unusual precision. Full-bodied and long, it should age effortlessly for 10-20 years. Since this property was acquired in 2001 by Gerard and Chantal Perse, it has been a reference point for just how remarkable Cotes de Castillon wines can be. 90-93 Points, Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate, Issue#182. The term wine future refers to buying wine shortly after it is made at the winery, but before it is bottled and shipped. Buying wine futures allows you to lock in a significantly discounted price relative to what the wine will sell for on general release. When the wine arrives at B-21, customers who purchased futures will be notified that the wine is ready for shipment. 2008 Bordeaux will begin arriving in 2011.
