Roger MacWilliamson teamed up with veteran winemaker, Andrew Beckwith, to create 600 cases of this San Benito Merlot. With an added splash of Syrah, this full-bodied Merlot starts with intense berry and mocha flavors, followed by black cherry and currant, ending with a soft, lingering finish. Well structured with lots of black fruit, this wine is soft in acids and tannins making it instantly drinkable. Enjoy! 2005 Wood Winery "Tipsy Dog" Pinot Noir
$ 16.99The 2005 Pinot Tipsy Dog is not only a hoot to serve but it delivers as well on price and quality. a deep ruby color along with a nice, earthy, sweet nose of blue fruits, raspberries, and cherries. Medium-bodied with good acidity, light tannin, and a pure finish. This wine has length, it should drink well for 4-5 years." Remember you can always say, "The dog made me do it!" The Wood Winery is owned and operated by the Wood Family. The 80-acre Estate is located at the base of the Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo and enjoys the cool evening climate of the Edna Valley yet has a warmer daytime temperature similar to Paso Robles. The distinctive microclimate is ideal for growing wine grapes unique to the Central Coast of California. The first blocks of vines were planted in 1999 with the inspiration of two Cal Poly Viticulture Graduates.
A lovely light garnet color with aromas of ripe red cherry, cocoa, smokey-spice and some toasty cinnamon. There are lots of lovely soft fruits on the palate, with spices, a hint of pepper and some cleansing acid. Beautifully balanced this full-bodied wine is very approachable, a bit complex, and overflowing with value. A blend of 75% Tempranillo, 15% Syrah and 10% Grenache. This limited production wine was aged 16 months before bottling. Only 720 cases made. Louisa Sawyar Lindquist spent the early 80âs studying and working in the vineyards of Long Island. Her background in viticulture served her well when she moved to California and began working with wineries and their vineyards. Louisa began dating Bob Lindquist, the owner/winemaker of Qupé Wine Cellars, and introduced him to her favorite Spanish wines. In time they began planting small blocks of the two grape varietals at the Ibarra-Young Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley on the Central Coast of California, experimenting wi Using Spanish grape varietals, Verdad generates a limited production of delicious wines. These wines reflect the true flavors of the varietal and the unique terroir in which they are grown. Salva Tierra 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
$ 19.98The 2006 Salva Tierra Cabernet Sauvignon is in keeping with the elegant vintage of 2006 and 2005, and the style of prior Salva Tierra Cabernets. The wine is full of depth and complexity with typical Napa Valley Cabernet characteristics. The aroma is very fruit forward dominated by the blackberry notes, and underlying cassis and anise. The mouthfeel is deep and rich with plenty of soft tannins for earlier drinking.
