  1. 2008 Bodegas Sitios Con Class Verdejo (Rueda)

    $ 9.99

    'Light gold. Highly perfumed aromas of lime, salty minerals, honeysuckle and herbs. Pure, focused and energetic, with spicy citrus and green apple flavors underscored by smoky herbal and floral qualities. Offers excellent clarity and finishing cut, echoing the lime and mineral notes. This would work great with raw oysters." 90 Points, Steven Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 09 "Made by 6th generation winemaker, Richard Sanz of "Sitios de Bodega", each bottle of the 2008 vintage bears his sginature of approval. Also, Sitios de Bodega is the first ecological winery in Rueda farming organic wines. Made with 100% Verdejo from very old vines, the Con Class has an incredible brightness with little mineral notes that maintain its balance, making it a perfect match for seafood. The aromas are tropical and exotic filled with pears, mangos, and white flowers. It is dry and flavorful with fresh acidity." 89 Points, Summer Martin, B-21 "The organically grown and produced 2008 Con Class Verdejo is sourced from 70- to 100-year-old Verdejo vines. Light straw-colored with attractive mineral, floral and tropical aromas, on the palate it is vibrant, concentrated, and long. Drink this tasty Verdejo over the next two years." 88 Points, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, June 2009 Thee vines, reportedly between 70 and 100 years of age, are planted on 30 meters of chalk. The surface is covered in large stones, similar to areas of Chateauneuf du Pape, and they harvest by hand before dawn and use cold temps and inert gas to prevent oxidation between getting the fruit to the cellar as well as during the vinification. 3. 2007 Valdelainos Verdejo (Rueda)

    $ 11.99

    “Great concentration of fruit in the nose and almost unbelievable concentration, weight and length on the palate. This is the most riveting white I have tasted at this price in some time!” 91 points, Steve Rayman "Not many wines of this price are pulling legit 90-point scores. But this one deserves it. The wine delivers citrus and piquant green-fruit aromas, which are backed by honeyed melon and lime flavors. The texture is just soft enough to not bite, while the finish is wavy. 10,000 cases made." 90 points - Wine Enthusiast, August 1, 2008 "The 2007 Valdelainos Verdejo is 100% varietal. The expressive nose reveals mineral, floral notes, and citrus. It offers greater richness, depth, and concentration than the blend. It is easily worth the extra $1.00. Drink it over the next 1-2 years." 89 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, April 28, 2008

" 90 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 181 "Nice wild aromas of garrigue and olive give way to a silky palate of dark plum, loganberry and iron notes, with a long, fleshy finish. 5. 2007 Errazuriz Chardonnay Wild Ferment Casablanca Valley

    $ 15.99

It has an expressive bouquet of buttered toast, spiced apple, and white peach leading to a surprisingly elegant, medium-bodied Chardonnay with tangy flavors and a long, pure finish. It can be enjoyed over the next three years." 90 points - Jay Miller, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 183 "Green-tinged yellow. Strikingly complex aromas of spiced pear, apple, floral honey and smoky lees. Fleshy orchard fruit and orange flavors are given spine by tangy minerals and gain an intriguing herbal quality on the back end. The mineral note lingers on the long, juicy finish." 90 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr '09

  6. Chateau Faizeau 2005 Vieilles Vignes Bordeaux

    $ 19.98

    Wine Spectator: 90 Points Chateau Faizeau produces one of Bordeaux's great value reds and today's offer adds to this wines incredible value. From the epic 2005 vintage, this is surely one of the great buys in a vintage where prices for the top crus set record highs. If you love great tasting Bordeaux but prices have kept you away, than this ones for you! Want ready-to-drink Bordeaux from a great vintage under twenty bucks? This is it! Has pretty berry, coffee and vanilla character. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins, lots of sweet black fruit and a long finish. Best after 2012. James Suckling, Wine Spectator Possibly the finest Faizeau made to date, this sleeper of the vintage reveals a deep ruby/purple color along with a lovely nose of kirsch, licorice, and pain grille. Full-bodied, ripe, and seamless with excellent harmony among its component parts, it hit 14.5% natural alcohol and is made from 100% Merlot. This extravagant, flamboyant effort should drink well for a decade. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate Good bright ruby. Vibrant, pure aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, licorice and dark chocolate. Silky and suave in the mouth but with lovely vinosity to leaven the wine's deep sweetness. I love the sugar/acid snap here. Very fresh hints of licorice and exotic ginger. Nicely mouthcoating and lush on the back end, finishing with spreading, ripe tannins and a chocolatey flavor. An excellent performance. Half of these vines date back to 1911. This one weighs in at 14.75% alcohol and would make a perfect ringer in a tasting of California cabernets. 7. 2007 Rafael Palacios Louro Do Bolo (Valdeorras)

    $ 19.99

    "(100% godello) Hazy chartreuse color. Explosively aromatic nose projects a sexy bouquet of mineral-driven citrus and pear aromas, along with pungent flowers, smoky minerals and white pepper. Juicy pear and lime flavors stain the palate and are given an exotic quality by floral honey, chalk and anise nuances. The mineral character expands on the strikingly energetic and long finish. Impressive." 92 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 08 "The 2007 Louro do Bolo is 100% Godello produced from 40-50 year old vines. It was tank fermented and aged on the lies. Light gold-colored, it offers up aromas of petrol, white peach, and spiced pear. This leads to an elegant wine with a vibrant palate-feel, good balance, and outstanding concentration. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. 90 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #178 (AUG 2008)

  8. 2006 Lemelson Pinot Noir Thea's Selection (Willamette)

    $ 26.99

    "The new movie Bottle Shock deals with the wine world of the 70's when California wines took world stage in Paris beating out their French cabernet competition in a blind tasting. Similarly, this impressive new release of Lemelson was that experience were I began to see Oregon Pinot Noir as comparable to the best wine Burgundy has to offer, not to mention the relative value. Far too few good Burgundies exist below $30 yet this wine is in the league of a Grand Cru such as Echezeaux which retail at $100 plus. My first visit to the nascent Oregon wine scene was 18 years ago and it was clear this moment would come. This wine is for Burgundy lovers in particular; it represents a remarkable value with the breed, complexity, and finish which will reward you and beacon to the future of American Pinot Noir. Finally, a sequel to the movie Sideways!" 94 Points, Robert Sprentall, B-21 "Thea’s Selection is Lemelson’s “measuring stick” Pinot Noir, as it is a blend of blocks from the different estate vineyards. This elegant release emphasizes aromas of pungent herbs, lifted with hints of rose petal and briary berry. In the mouth there is a lively, sappy, fruit-centric focus, showing concentrated raspberry (framboise) flavors. In short, a thoroughly delicious bottle that makes the case for blends over most single-vineyard offerings in Oregon." 90 points - Wine Enthusiast, December 15, 2008 Medium red. Smoky red berry and cherry compote aromas are complicated by sassafras and herbal notes, along with a hint of cola. Fleshy and round, offering sweet black raspberry and candied cherry flavors, supple tannins and slow-building spiciness. Clings impressively on the finish and strongly repeats the cherry note. 90 Points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/Jun 09

  9. 2005 Hartford Chardonnay Four Hearts (Russian River)

    $ 29.99

    "A new offering, the 2005 Chardonnay Four Hearts is a 11,000-case cuvee of stunning Chardonnay. Beautiful aromas of honeysuckle, peach blossoms, poached pears, and subtle wood are present in this well-made, elegant, crisp, aromatically expressive white. Medium to full-bodied, long, and pure, it should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 3-4 years." 91 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 168 "This isn’t one of Hartford’s single-vineyard Chards, but a blend from around RRV. It’s a very elegant, balanced wine, with complexity and charm; 100% barrel fermented, it shows oak-influenced flavors of Meyer lemons, pineapple sorbet and rich Gravenstein apple butter." 91 points - Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2007

  10. 2008 La Confession (Saint-Emilion) »FUTURES«

    $ 32.99

    This is an amazing effort among the many dazzling 2008 St.-Emilions. Proprietor Jean-Philippe Janoueix (who appears to be in his mid-thirties) has produced a riveting wine from a blend of 66% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Franc that tips the scales at 13.8% natural alcohol. Janoueix, an advocate of high density vine plantings, has fashioned a 2008 with sensational fruit levels, an inky ruby/purple color, stunning texture (akin to a Shanghai skyscraper), and tremendous purity. Despite 100% malolactic in new French oak, and aging in the weird looking cigar-shaped barrels, the oak is well-concealed by the wine’s wealth of fruit and concentration. Chocolate, charcoal, blackberry, and blueberry aromas and flavors dominate this sensational effort. It possesses high tannins, but, like so many of the top wines of this vintage, they are sweet and ripe. 92-94 Points, Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate, Issue#182 The term wine future refers to buying wine shortly after it is made at the winery, but before it is bottled and shipped. Buying wine futures allows you to lock in a significantly discounted price relative to what the wine will sell for on general release. When the wine arrives at B-21, customers who purchased futures will be notified that the wine is ready for shipment. 2008 Bordeaux will begin arriving in 2011.

  11. Yarra Yering 2005 Pinot Noir

    $ 38.98

    Every once in a while a very special deal comes along, and this is one of them. The Yarra Yering 2005 Pinot Noir is a wine of exceptional quality and complexity. Like many other wineries, the economic climate has slowed sales to a point where top-flight wines are now becoming more readily available at a reduced price. This makes for outstanding deals for the consumer. This is one such wine. In 1969, after nearly fifty years of dormant wine making, Dr. Bailey Carrodus finished a long search in Victoria’s Yarra Valley for the perfect vineyard site, planting 12 hectacres of vines at the foot of the Warramate Hills. With a degree in botany, another in winemaking and a doctorate earned at Oxford for research into plant physiology, combined with a passion for great wine and a fiercely independent mind, Dr. Carrodus began producing some of the most highly acclaimed wines in the area. Produced from what are amongst the oldest Pinot Noir vines in the Yarra Valley, this wine has developed an underground following over its existence that is beginning to be recognized as standing alongside the, historically, more awarded wines from the estate. Deviating from current oenological trend and fashion, the fruit is largely handled in its usual manner, favoring partial crushing and a short cuvaison as integral tools in the preservation and expression of vineyard elements in concert with its startling varietal character. Aristocratic, fragrant, intensely perfumed, voluptuous, sweet strawberry/plum richness, anise, beetroot, silky in texture, richness, round, soft and mouth-filling to the end. James Halladay - 94 Points Deeply coloured; rich, plush and mouth-coating, with deep, sweet, plum fruit which takes you to the edge of dry red, but doesn't go over; very good fruit, oak and tannin balance; heroic pinot. Cork. Stephen Tanzer - 92 Points Deep red. Impressively complex nose combines fresh and dried red berry aromas with fresh meat and forest floor nuances; this could pass for a Gevrey-Chambertin. Concentrated raspberry and blackberry flavors are complicated by bitter amaro and cherry skin notes and sweetened by floral pastille. Firms up on the chewy finish, which features an intriguing mineral quality and excellent persistence. Robert Parker - 91 Points Dark ruby-colored, it exhibits aromas of pain grille, scorched earth, meat, black cherry, and black raspberry. Full-bodied, mouth-filling and ripe, this uniquely-styled Pinot Noir has layers of sweet fruit, 6-8 years of aging potential, and a long finish. It could easily masquerade as a Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru (from a top producer). 12. 2007 Rafael Palacios As Sortes Godello Valdeorras

    $ 39.99

    "(100% godello) Green-edged gold. Spicy lime, mango and honeydew aromas are brightened by dusty minerals and jasmine. Crisp and sharply focused on the palate, becoming deeper and richer with air. Palate-staining flavors of ripe melon and bitter peach pit are braced by mouthwatering acidity, which adds lift and cut to the back end. The finish repeats the melon note and leaves powerful mineral and floral notes behind. Serious stuff, and complex enough to serve with full-flavored foods." 93 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 08 The 2007 As Sortes is 100% Godello sourced from a small single vineyard. Waxy minerals and marzipan make for an intriguing nose. Elegant, potentially complex, and ripe, the wine is impeccably balanced but could use a bit more concentration. Drink it over the next four years. 92 Points, Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate # 183, Jun 2009

  13. 2006 E. Guigal St. Joseph Lieu Dit St. Joseph

    $ 39.99

    "Deep red. Black raspberry, kirsch and cinnamon on the nose. Suave dark berry flavors show very good depth and sweetness, with silky, integrated tannins adding support and focus. The fruit lingers impressively on the finish, which is long, sweet and juicy, with a late note of baking spices. This seductive wine will be delicious soon after release." 92 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jan/Feb 09 "Very solid, with ripe and nicely rounded plum, currant and blackberry fruit flavors that are backed by ample cocoa and espresso hints. The long, creamy finish lets toast and fig cake notes play out. Drink now through 2012. 750 cases made." 91 points - Wine Spectator, May 31, 2009 "There is no doubting the brilliance of the 2006 St.-Joseph Lieu-Dit St.-Joseph. This beauty boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as aromas of crushed rocks, black raspberries, cherries, flowers, and licorice. Despite the use of 100% new oak, very little wood is noticeable in the aromas and flavors of this medium-bodied, elegant St.-Joseph. It should last for at least a decade." 90-92 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 182

  14. 2004 Fattoria di Felsina Fontalloro

    $ 39.99

    "The 2004 Fontalloro (100% Sangiovese) comes across as fresher and brighter than the Rancia. Light on its feet, this graceful, delicate wine opens with sweet, perfumed aromatics that meld into raspberries, flowers, spices and a touch of sweet oak that lingers on the finish. It offers remarkable clarity and precision in a pure, focused style, with superb balance and finessed tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2019." 94 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 177 "Good full ruby. Richer and even more minerally on the nose than the '04 Rancia, offering plenty of orange zest, lily and pleasantly tart red cherry aromas. Lush, very ripe red fruit flavors and a salty edge give this immediate appeal, but make it a bit less refined than the Rancia in '04. The tannins, though, are smoother and slide effortlessly along the very long finish." 94 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 07 "Fontalloro is a classic super Tuscan. The wine is ripe with gorgeous mineral tones, oak shavings, root beer and forest berry. It’s a clear, pristine wine with a delicate embroidery of fruity flavors on the finish that would pair beautifully with classic Italian recipes." 92 points - Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2008 "A little raisiny on the nose, with hints of flowers and blackberry. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a juicy finish. A little austere, but structured and very racy. Needs time. Sangiovese. Best after 2010. 2,900 cases made." 91 points - Wine Spectator, October 31, 2007

  15. 2004 San Vicente Rioja

    $ 47.99

    The 2004 San Vicente is 100% Tempranillo Peludo sourced from a single vineyard and aged for 20 months in new French and American oak. Deep crimson-colored, it offers an enticing bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, black cherry, and black raspberry. This leads to an elegant Rioja with excellent balance, intense flavors, and 5-7 years of aging potential. It should be at its best between 2015 and 2025. 91 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #175 (FEB 2008) Dark ruby. Intensely floral aromas of deep cherry and dark berries, violet and dried rose. Smooth in texture and sweet, with lush red fruit flavors, medium weight and no obvious tannins. Gains brightness on the finish, which offers impressive tangy persistence. 91 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 2007

  16. 2002 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 375ml

    $ 49.99

    "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve may not equal the fabulous concentration and intensity of the 2001, but it’s not far off the mark. It is a fruit-forward, softer, more flamboyant, already seductive effort displaying gorgeous notes of chocolaty creme de cassis, some spicy, high-quality, toasty oak, a rich, plush, savory, expansive mid-palate, and a long, heady finish with elevated glycerin and plenty of sweet tannin and fruit. This wine is delicious yet promises to age gorgeously for 15-20 years. Ed Sbragia compares it to the 1992 which, by the way, is drinking superbly in 2005, but is one of those rare vintages that has never gone through a closed period. It’s always a fascinating education to taste through these component parts, but the resulting blend that Ed Sbragia puts together, the extraordinary Private Reserve, is one of the great Cabernet Sauvignons of California and he has fashioned a succession of beauties since 1991. In fact, there are two gorgeous ones in the market, the profound 2001 and the flamboyant, exotic 2002." 94 Points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 162 "Good full ruby-red. Sexy aromas of currant and dark chocolate. Compellingly sweet and densely packed, with lovely vinosity giving shape to the flavors of dark berries, cedar and minerals. Very fine-grained and very long on the palate, with the tannins perfectly buffered by the wine's material. This wine, mostly from Steinhauer and St. Helena fruit, went into the barrel in January of 2003 and remained there for two years, undisturbed except for a monthly topping-up. Has the balance to offer considerable early appeal, but this bottling has a long track record for aging gracefully in bottle and surprising with its longevity." 94 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/Jun 06 Rich, extracted and layered, with dark roast espresso. Exotic toffee, brown sugar and mocha join rich blueberry and blackberry flavors. Intense and very ripe, pushing the envelope at all points. Fans of this style will love it. Drink now through 2009. 5,100 cases made. 92 Points, The Wine Spectator (Nov 2006)

  17. 2005 Isole e Olena Cepparello

    $ 49.99

    The estate-s top bottling, the 2005 Cepparello, is another strong effort. Classy and elegant, it possesses well-delineated vibrant dark red fruit intermingled with toasted oak and minerals. It remains quite fresh and will require a few years of bottle age to develop its full range of aromas and flavors. That said, it is a smaller-scaled Cepparello that should mature earlier than the superb 2004. Cepparello is 100% Sangiovese aged in French oak. Once again, Paolo De Marchi has turned out a superlative wine. 92 Points, Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate, Issue # 177

  18. Podere Poggio Scalette 2006 Alta Valle della Greve Il Carbionaione Pre-Arrival

    $ 54.98

    Robert Parker: 94 Points ETA September 2010 Proprietors Vittorio and Jurij Fiore craft one of Tuscany’s most unique wines from their vineyards high in the hills of Greve. Il Carbonaione is 100% old-vine Sangiovese made from the prized Lamole clone, a rare and prized mutation of Sangiovese found only in this part of Greve. The Fiores give Il Carbonaione roughly one year in 350 liter oak barrels (50% new), of which 90% is French and 10% American. Il Carbonaione is one of the most age-worthy wines in Tuscany, and has a track record of developing beautifully in bottle. It remains one of the best relative values in fine, ageworthy wine. Parker wrote: The 2006 Il Carbonaione is a big, dark wine. Imposing at first, it flows from the glass with tons of super-ripe blueberries, grilled herbs, new leather, spices, minerals and flowers. Today the oak is rather prominent, but all the wine needs is time in bottle to come together. The finish is long, pure and refined. Simply put, the 2006 Il Carbonaione is a gem that readers won’t want to miss. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2026. Wine Spectator wrote: Amazing dark color for a Sangiovese. Mind-blowing aromas of crushed blackberries, violets and blueberries, with sandalwood undertones. Full-bodied, with silky and focused tannins and beautiful, rich and subtle flavors. It lasts for minutes on the palate. Best ever from this estate, which is owned by legendary winemaker Vittorio Fiore. Sangiovese. Best from 2011 through 2017. 2,000 cases made.
